Health Result: Dropped 42Ib in just 12 weeks, cleared up a

I spent a lot of time doing sport it accounted for at least one third of my average day, that is until I suffered an injury to my knee.
I would encounter severe pain and swelling after any physical activity which got progressively worse over time. Eventually I had an athroscopy carried out and this showed excessive wear to the back of the kneecap and a load of debris in the joint. The solution was for plastic kneecaps but was not recommended because I was only 25 years old and they would not last.

A barium meal revealed damage to my stomach lining, a change of painkillers and Gaviscon and Zantac added to my prescriptions.
Over the next few years painkillers where increased and Losec replaced the zantac. The only sport I could do was upper body and lead to a quite large upper body and y skinny littler legs. Pains started in my shoulders and I was treated for tendonitis for a while before being sent for a MRI scan. The scan showed a trapped tendon and key hole surgery was carried out.
Back for loads more physio, pain extreme and an unexpected outcome.. NO improvement! A second opinion lead to the idea of partial dislocation and more operations to put in metal pins and move muscles around.
At this time I lost my job due to the fact there was no real remedy in sight, arthritis set in my joints and medication was increased again. Now on very strong painkillers, anti-inflammatory tablets for the arthritis, stomach tablets sprays, potions and lotions. Plus increased visits to Physiotherapy, like 3 times a week to have electric shock treatment on the joints. Plus having my knees shaved once a week and strapped up life was not looking too rosy.

Having to take the looks and comments as my wife carrying heavy shopping bags and me with my hands in my pockets. I was assessed at 60% disabled and totally reliant on medication to just get around the house.

What followed truly amazed me, not believing it would do any good and to be honest cheating as well. In the first few days I noticed a huge difference in my energy levels, like not falling asleep 5 minutes after sitting down. After 8 weeks I had dropped 27 lbs and stopped taking all my medication. I may have been able to stop this sooner, but when you spend every day of your life in pain for over 5 years I was scared to stop taking my painkillers first thing in a morning. If I waited for the pain to kick in it took even longer for the painkillers to kick in!
After 12 weeks I had dropped over 42 lbs but more than just the weight loss I had a quality of life where I was independent again. Not having to rely on others and able to actually play with my children and not shouting at them to get off my knee or which ever part of my body was hurting.
